Juventus vs Empoli: Top 10 Players Who Troubled the Bianconeri
Juventus were held to a 1-1 draw by Empoli at the Allianz Stadium on Sunday morning, in a Serie A clash. The Old Lady were reduced to 10 men in the 18th minute when Arkadiusz Milik received a red card.
Despite being a player down, Juventus managed to take the lead through Dusan Vlahovic in the 50th minute. However, Tommaso Baldanzi equalized for Empoli in the 70th minute, denying the home side a victory.
Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri commended his players despite failing to secure a win. He praised their efforts as they continued to fight for a victory despite playing with 10 men.
Allegri acknowledged that playing with a numerical disadvantage was challenging for his team. Moreover, Empoli took advantage of the situation.
"I think the team played well, we played with 10 men after 15 minutes and still tried to win the game. We had some good chances, including one where Matthias Cambiaso failed in front of the goal," Allegri told DAZN.
"This is football, it's disappointing, but the red card made our plans a bit more difficult and Empoli made it complicated," he explained.
Juventus currently sit at the top of the league table with 53 points. However, they are only two points ahead of second-placed Inter Milan, who still have two games in hand. (min)
